You already have experience. People already come to you for answers, guidance or support.
But when it comes to teaching properly – knowing how to structure learning, assess fairly, and support people without getting it wrong – confidence can wobble.
The Level 3 Education & Training Award (EAT3) gives you the recognised qualification to teach in post-16 education, alongside the practical skills and support to do it well.

Many people find themselves delivering training because they're good at their job – not because they were taught how to teach.
You might be standing in front of a room, running sessions for your team, or sharing specialist knowledge, while quietly worrying:
Am I doing this properly?
Am I supporting people fairly?
Without a recognised qualification and the right foundations, training can feel like guesswork. And when you're responsible for other people’s learning, that pressure matters.
There's usually a moment when experience alone stops feeling sufficient.
When you realise you want the credibility behind you.
When you want to understand how people learn, not just what they need to know.
When you want to feel confident assessing others and supporting different needs.
That's where a teaching qualification becomes less of a “nice to have” and more of a necessity.
They want to:
Know they're doing things properly
Feel confident and legitimate in front of learners
Support people fairly and inclusively
Have a qualification that backs up their role
Teach without fear of getting it wrong
The EAT3 exists to meet that exact need.
The Level 3 Education & Training Award (EAT3) is the recognised qualification required to teach in post-16 education and professional training environments.
In plain terms, it teaches you how to teach.
You'll learn how to plan learning, deliver engaging sessions, assess learners correctly, and support people with different needs. It's designed for adults with experience, not for academic specialists or career teachers.
This qualification is widely used by team leaders training their teams, business owners sharing their expertise, professionals in specialist roles, and people moving into training or teaching within post-16 education.
This is a fully accredited HABC Level 3 qualification.
The course is delivered over four days live online via Microsoft Teams and includes:
Live, tutor-led teaching and assessment
A supported electronic workbook

Many people avoid qualifications because they fear they'll be too academic, rigid or unsupportive.
At Petals Training we deliver the EAT3 differently.
The course is inclusive, practical and designed for real people.
You don't need to be academic. There's no age limit.
Learners come from diverse backgrounds including the care sector, NHS, business, wellbeing, construction and specialist industries.
Support is built in from the start, with tutors guiding you through the process and adapting delivery to individual needs.
This fully accredited HABC Level 3 qualification covers the foundations of effective teaching and training.
You'll learn how to understand your role and responsibilities as a trainer, plan inclusive learning, deliver engaging sessions, assess learners fairly, and complete a micro-teach session that demonstrates your skills in practice.
The focus is on building confidence and competence, not on academic theory for its own sake.
The course sessions are interactive, supportive and paced to meet you where you are.

The electronic workbook is fully supported. Our tutors provide you with guidance, resources and examples, parts of the workbook are covered live during the course, and personal support is available throughout.
Some learners complete the qualification within four weeks. Others take longer. Both are absolutely fine.
Petals Training holds direct claim status with the awarding body, meaning your certificate can be requested as soon as your workbook is complete.
Placing someone in your team on the EAT3 is a practical, cost-effective way to build internal training capability.
Rather than relying on external providers, organisations can develop confident in-house trainers who understand your people, standards and culture. The skills gained also support stronger communication, leadership and people management.
We work with organisations across multiple sectors. Invoices can be issued and group enrolments arranged.
