

The HABC Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is aimed at learners aged 19+. It has been designed to provide an introduction to teaching/training for individuals who would like to work or currently work within FE Colleges, Independent Training Providers; and those who are required to train others within their job role.
Individuals who have been training others for some time but do not have an official training qualification.
Individuals not currently teaching or training but would like to in the future.
Achievement of this qualification does not require current teaching/training practice other than the micro teach session to take place as an interactive part of the course.
Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching/training.
No formal qualifications are required in order to attend the course. Although a level of literacy is required in order to complete the workbook Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance.
This is a 4 day training course, often split over a 2 week period (bespoke dates available on request).
Through a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates the learner has met the required assessment criteria.
Learners will be expected to apply and show evidence of both theoretical and practical knowledge in their portfolio (workbook completed after the course has ended).
The HABC Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (QCF) is aimed at learners aged 19+ and has been designed to prepare trainee teachers to teach in a wide range of contexts.
The qualification will meet the needs of a range of teachers and trainee teachers who would like to gain a qualification which focuses on practical teaching.
It will be appropriate for those with some experience of teaching and training. This could include individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements outlined in the mandatory and optional units.
Entry onto the course is subject to a diagnostic assessment in Maths, English and ICT.
The qualification has a minimum of 140 guided learning hours and learners must be able to evidence 30 hours of teaching practice.
Through a portfolio of evidence which demonstrates the learner has met the required assessment criteria. Learners will be expected to apply and show evidence of both theoretical and practical knowledge in their portfolio.
You will be continuously assessed throughout the course by a combination of assignments and observation of teaching or training.
Assessment is subject to external verification.
